Founded in 1987, the Large Public Power Council (LPPC) is comprised of 27 of the nation’s largest public power systems that serve 30 million Americans, about 10 percent of the U.S. population.
Collectively, the 27 LPPC utilities own more than 80,000 megawatts of generation capacity powered by natural gas, nuclear, coal, hydroelectric, wind, solar and other renewable energy sources.
